KIKK hires student mediators for the new exhibition at Le Pavillon

Le Pavillon’s mission is to offer a programme that is both demanding and accessible to all. Thanks to mediation, the exhibition has a much more immediate (and fun!) educational character. And for that, we need you.

The place and project

Do you know the KIKK? The KIKK, a non-profit organisation from Namur, was founded 12 years ago and explores digital cultures through the organisation of an international festival (KIKK festival), a creative hub and a fablab (TRAKK), but also through its new exhibition space, Le Pavillon.

Le Pavillon was first the symbol of Belgium at the Milan World Expo in 2015. Today, Le Pavillon is becoming a new emblematic and touristic place of the Walloon capital with a programme of temporary exhibitions, conferences, performances and workshops, on the attack of new possibilities.

Le Pavillon is an art space.

Le Pavillon is a space to play.

Le Pavillon is a space for technological innovations.

It is also a place for exchange, meeting and creativity from 7 to 777 years old !

This year, Le Pavillon is inaugurating a brand new exhibition entitled Under Construction which will run from 1 July to 6 August 2023. The essential asset of our exhibitions? Passionate mediators to take the visitor to the heart of the project.

For its third exhibition, Le Pavillon has given carte blanche to the two Berlin artists Niklas Roy and Kati Hyyppä. Surrounded by numerous guest artists, this creative duo from the maker culture has taken over the Pavilion to create a series of installations that are as surprising as they are amusing. Interactive and participative, this panel of creations mixes code, recycled everyday objects and DIY. Over 5 weeks, the exhibition will be constantly evolving thanks to the contributions of visitors.

What’s the job ?

  • Welcoming the public and guiding groups through the exhibition.

  • Assimilate the content of the exhibition and be able to convey it in English, French and/or Dutch to visitors during the tour, which you will be responsible for.

  • Advise and inform the public about the content of the works, their purpose and their message. Answer questions and encourage understanding of the tour.

  • Leading groups of visitors to discover the works, to interact with them and to leave the place with new knowledge and a critical mind about the content.

  • A unique opportunity to become a professional in one of the many tourism and cultural professions.

Wanted qualities

  1. Strength and honour. Well, no. Loyalty and commitment. This is a serious job, we’re counting on you, really.

  2. Friendliness and easy contact. Thanks to you, visitors will have no more questions when they leave Le Pavillon.

  3. You speak Mandarin, Tibetan, Rotokas and Tujuka. And if you also speak French and Dutch, that’s wonderful.

  4. You have a good eye for detail.

  5. If you have student status and are at least 18 years old.
